L'Atelier Patisserie

The absolutely BEST Canelés I have ever tried. I’ve had them in France and even Bordeaux where this sweet delicacy is from but L’Atelier Pâtisserie (Market Row, in Brixton) has mastered them at a craft level. I love all their patisseries but the Canelé is definitely their masterpiece! 👌 The intense burnt-ish caramelised crust gives a delightful bites that contrasts with the softness of the delicious bouncy heart, full of vanilla flavour and a hint of salt that stimulates the taste buds 😋

A return visit and this place is a "must". They are serving up patisseries that would not look out of place in Harrods FoodHall. Better than last time (if that was possible). Not local and been to Brixton a few times, lots of great foodie options. I came across this place and bought some of their creations for later. They were great - the mango mousse was so light, they also did a mini Black Forest Gateau which tasted great. Would return

The first time I came here, I got the lemon tart and chocolate mousse cake for takeaway. The dessert was so amazing that I went there again a few days later to have the lemon tart again and then also try the raspberry tart. Starting with the the chocolate mousse cake , normally I’m not a huge fan of chocolate cake but the one here is very very delicious. It’s very light and fluffy and does not have an overly rich chocolate flavour which I tend not to like. The raspberry tart was probably my least favourite thing I’ve tried , it was nice but does not compare to the chocolate mousse cake or lemon tart. The star of the show is most definitely the lemon tart, it’s probably one of the best things ever and I crave it all the time. If you come here, you have to try that. I will definitely be coming back regularly to try the other things there too.

Wonderful service and amazing desserts! I ordered a birthday cake here and it was the best cake I’ve ever had in years. I also got some smaller tarts and honestly they were all incredible too! I have a nut allergy which usually makes ordering from a patisserie quite difficult but the staff was super accommodating and made sure everything was catered for my dietary restrictions. The really welcoming and happy atmosphere is also a massive plus! Also, despite ordering with short nice my cake was ready even earlier than expected ☺️ can’t wait to go back again!

My fiancé ordered this custom carrot cake with a strawberry tart twist for my birthday, and it was perfect in every way. The carrot cake itself was moist, rich, and beautifully spiced—just the way I like it. The strawberries added the freshest pop of sweetness and paired so well with the cream frosting. Not only did it taste incredible, but it looked amazing too—topped with fresh fruit, a glossy photo layer, and sparklers that made the moment unforgettable. You could feel the love that went into every layer. Everyone kept asking where it was from! It truly made the celebration extra special. A heartfelt thank you to my fiancé and to whoever baked this beauty. Highly recommended for any occasion that deserves something memorable.
